Each of these treats symbolizes the sweetness and closeness of every Filipino Family. Whether you’re craving for something with gata (coconut milk) or perhaps with pulitipot, cheese, corn, coconut meat, or even cassava, the Philippine kakanins has it all for you.Make sure when you go around the market that you grab a bite of these Filipino snacks. We are Filipino immigrants from the Philippines. My wife and I have work experience in the food industry back home. Cooking has always been our bread and butter. We have worked in street food restaurants, food courts, and famous fast-food chains in the Philippines. I even worked on a cruise ship based in Miami. However, life on a cruise ship was not easy. It meant being far away from my family, dealing with seasickness, enduring long working hours, and having no days off. These experiences made me realize that I needed to make a change. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to receive an offer from an employer who owns an Italian restaurant in Edmonton. And the rest, as they say, is history.
